May 8, 2024 Severe Weather Forecasts
Dear Shiloh Families,
The National Weather Service has issued warnings of severe thunderstorms today. According to the NWS, our region is under a flood watch until midnight tonight and thunderstorms are forecasted to begin between 1-4 pm. The NWS forecast states, “Several waves of severe thunderstorms are expected today from late morning into early evening. Locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding is possible. There is still uncertainty in the forecast, both in timing and strength of thunderstorms.”
If storm sirens are initiated at student dismissal time, it is our protocol to hold buses and shelter in place at the school. If sirens are activated, students cannot be released to parents. However, parents may enter the building to shelter with us if they have arrived for pick up.
Elementary Afterschool Care and Tuition Preschool program will continue as planned. However, we encourage parents to monitor weather when planning pickups. If storm sirens are activated, students cannot be released until there is an all clear.
All middle school after school activities are canceled for today.
Thank you
Dale Sauer
