Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to inform you of a difficult situation involving one of our students. Recently, Navon Weathers, a 5th grader at Shiloh Middle School, and his family experienced the loss of their home in a devastating fire. Thankfully, no one was physically harmed, but they have lost most of their belongings and are facing the challenges of rebuilding their lives.

As a school community, we are committed to supporting Navon and his family during this incredibly difficult time. We understand that events like this can have a profound impact on a child, and we want to ensure that Navon feels supported both emotionally and academically as they navigate through this challenging period.

If you would like to contribute to their recovery efforts, we will be having a Pajama Day on Friday January 17th at both Shiloh Middle and Shiloh Elementary Schools.  We are asking for cash donations or gift cards to be given on Friday as a donation for your child wearing pajamas.  Any  support, whether it’s financial, material, or simply offering words of encouragement, will be greatly appreciated.  Beginning now and beyond this Friday, monetary donations and gift cards will be accepted at each school in the office.  Shiloh staff, every employee, understands that this could have been them or their next door neighbor. We are also educators, and we recognize that this is yet another teachable moment, like each day, to expand our compassion and empathy for each other.

If you would like to donate clothes for the family, we ask that you drop off clothing at the Middle and Elementary School offices during school hours. Clothing sizes are as follows: Boys 14u clothes, 6.5 size shoes, Ladies L or XL size shirt, size 14 pants, women’s size 9 shoe, Mens Large pants and shirts, mens size 10 shoes.   If you have any concerns or would like to reach out for additional resources, do not hesitate to contact us.
