July 20, 2021

Good Afternoon!

We wanted to provide some updates to our parents….

First, I want to thank our parents who have made it to registration this year.  That truly helps us plan for staffing and class lists.  If you have not registered, please visit our school offices this week to ensure your child is assigned to a class.  Remember, even if you registered on-line, residency documentation must be provided in person.

Open House will be conducted on Thursday, August 12th at both schools from 5:30pm to 7:30pm for 1st grade through 8th grade. Preschool, Early Childhood, and Kindergarten Open House will begin at 5pm and available through 7pm.  Our teachers in those grades often give a brief presentation to parents prior to other grades entering the building.

Our first day of school for students will be Friday, August 13th, from 8am to 11:30am.  Monday, August 16th will be our first full day of school from 8am-3:05pm.

Class lists will be posted on each building’s front window on Friday, August 6th at approximately 3pm.

Our Board of Education will hold a Special Board Meeting for Monday, August 9th at 6:30pm at Shiloh Middle School to discuss and present Shiloh’s finalized Return to Learn Plan for the 2021-2022 school year.

Addendum to our “Return to Learn Updates 10-7-2020:

Per IDPH Close Contacts MUST be quarantined for 14 days after the last/most recent contact with the positive COVID case was infectious.

The guidance for living in the
same household as someone who has COVID-19 and cannot avoid continued close contact which per guidelines includes sharing a bathroom and or kitchen is as follows:

Quarantine for 14 days after the person who has COVID-19 meets the criteria to end home isolation.

We have followed this for all cases of someone positive in a household who cannot physically isolate themselves separately from the household to protect our students and staff at SVS.

We understand that this 24-day period is difficult on families but safety for our students and staff are top priority.
